Candeo stands out from its competitors by investing time into discovering client’s strengths, which then leads to careers for their clients. They have always only provided competitive employment and have a strong, person-centered program.  

Employment often is part of our identity as citizens. Not only for the income, but for the contribution we make to our employer and our community. It’s no different for people with disabilities; employment is an integral part of who they are.

Candeo’s employment team works with local employers to bridge the gap of understanding, while providing a viable pool of employees. Employers who hire via Candeo’s employment services learn about various disabilities and how to successfully supervise people with disabilities. If necessary, they may receive assistance with job accommodations and job coaching.

Employers find great satisfaction in being a part of a process that allows Candeo’s clients to become who they are and to shine brilliantly.

Candeo has been a partner with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa for several years now. They found us amazing candidates for our laundry attendant position. We do over 16 loads of laundry in a single day, which requires a dedicated individual to help wash, dry, and fold all of the laundry. Laundry attendants have one of the most important jobs in the shelter which is providing animals at the shelter a soft, comfy place to lay every day. Candeo has been a wonderful organization to work with. They help find candidates that fit our schedule and our organization’s culture. Candeo also sets up wonderful job coaches for the candidates to have the most success possible when starting their new role with the shelter.

East Village Spa has worked with employees we hired with Candeo's assistance since 2012. Our cleaning and laundry positions had been challenging for us to fill with dependable employees using traditional hiring methods, but working with Candeo, we have been fortunate to work with two long term employees who had the benefit of job coaches to assist them to be successful in their roles. Our current Laundry Assistant has been on our team for over 2 years, prior to that another Candeo client worked with us for about 5 years. Our spa is a natural fit because our team of 20 people are warm, supportive, and value a diverse workplace where our employees from Candeo will have natural supports.

When Candeo’s client applied for the kennel attendant position at Heartland Animal Hospital, his love for cleaning, being around animals and interacting with people was apparent. This is our first time working with Candeo. Having Candeo employees present with our employee has helped immensely with training and making sure that he understands all of his job requirements. He always comes to work with a positive attitude and takes directions well with daily tasks. He greets staff members and clients alike, with a friendly smile and loves seeing our patients walk through the door. We were not familiar with Candeo before meeting our new employee, but we will look to them in the future as they have been extremely helpful. If there is a miscommunication between us and our employee, they will help identify the barrier in order to fix the issue at hand. We were looking for a long-term employee to be part of our team as we strive to have low employee turnover. We believe that our new employee will be part of our team long-term because we had Candeo there to help with the transition every step of the way.
